Terms & conditions
Last updated 2026-08-24
These terms apply to all purchases made at polarvintage.com. By placing an order you accept the terms below. Please read them carefully before ordering.
1. The seller
Polar Vintage AB, registration number 559598-2058, VAT number SE559598205801, Sagas Gränd 19, 215 36 Malmö, Sverige. Email: info@polarvintage.com (our consumer contact channel; we do not offer telephone support).
All prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and include Swedish VAT. Because every object we sell is second-hand or vintage, all sales are made under the margin scheme for used goods. This means VAT is calculated on the profit margin and is not stated separately on the receipt or invoice.
2. Vintage and second-hand objects
All objects are vintage or antique and previously owned. Age-related wear such as crazing, light scratches, patina or minor glaze imperfections is normal and is not considered a defect.
Each listing describes condition, era, maker and dimensions as accurately as possible, and photographs form part of the description. Every object is unique and sold in the condition shown.
3. Orders and agreement
An agreement is concluded when we confirm your order by email. We reserve the right to cancel an order and refund you in full if an object has already been sold, if a price or description is clearly incorrect, or if we suspect fraudulent use of a payment method.
You must be at least 18 years old, or have a guardian's consent, to place an order.
4. Payment
Payment is handled by our payment provider using secure encrypted connections. We never store your full card details.
The order is dispatched once payment has been received in full.
5. Delivery
See our shipping policy for delivery times, costs, tracking, insurance and customs information.
6. Right of withdrawal and complaints
As a consumer within the EU you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. See our returns page for the full procedure.
If an object is damaged in transit or does not match its description, contact us within a reasonable time — no later than two months after you discovered the issue. Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act you have a three-year right of complaint. Keep all packaging and send photographs of the damage.
7. Dispute resolution
We follow the recommendations of the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, Sweden, www.arn.se.
Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Swedish law applies to these terms.
8. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as postal disruption, natural events, or authority decisions.
9. Vintage-specific disclaimers
Sold as seen: every object is unique, previously owned and sold in the condition described and shown in the photographs. Patina, crazing, glaze pinholes, grinding marks, minor scratches and signs of use are normal for vintage and are not considered defects.
Colour rendering: shades may differ between screens and the actual object. Measurements are approximate and may vary by a few millimetres as pieces are often handmade.
Food safety: older porcelain, ceramics and glass have not been tested against current food-contact regulations. Glazes and decoration may contain lead or cadmium. Objects are sold as decorative collectibles; we recommend they are not used for food or drink, not used in a microwave or oven, and are washed by hand.
Not toys: these objects are not toys and are unsuitable for children. Small parts and fragile material may pose a risk.
Electrical and mechanical items: vintage lamps and electrical or mechanical objects are sold as decorative items and must be checked by a qualified professional before use.
Authenticity and dating: information about maker, artist, period and marks is based on our knowledge, mark research and available sources. It is given in good faith but is not a valuation or certificate of authenticity. Contact us before purchase if you need further documentation.
Restoration: any repairs, glued parts or retouching are stated in the listing where known to us.
Cultural property: we do not sell objects requiring an export licence under Swedish heritage legislation. Buyers are responsible for import rules in their own country.
This document is available in English and Swedish. In case of any discrepancy, the Swedish version prevails.
