Vintage Signed Wall Plaque with Horses by Helmut Schäffenacker
German art pottery in relief, 1960s
VAT included. Sold under the margin scheme for second-hand goods — no VAT is shown separately.
An atmospheric, asymmetrical shield-shaped ceramic wall plaque designed by Helmut Schäffenacker. The motif features two stylized horses in high relief, where the bright red and cream-colored glazes contrast beautifully against a dark petrol blue background. The color fields are separated by raised outlines and thickly applied glaze, an expressive technique characteristic of German post-war ceramics. The plaque features the artist's hand-painted signature or monogram on the front, both on the label and incised in the glaze, as well as stamped on the back.
