Rustic Danish ceramics with blue floral decoration

A characterful stoneware wall sconce from Danish Søholm, designed with a softly rounded, almost spoon-like shape. The light, white-glazed surface provides a beautiful backdrop for the deep blue, hand-painted floral decoration and rustic dark brown edges. At the bottom is a glazed cup designed for a candle, making it an atmospheric and decorative accent for the wall. An excellent example of the Bornholm ceramic tradition. Model number 3220, designed by Noomi Backhausen & Poul Brandborg in the 1970s.
