A magnificent and detailed ceramic wall plaque, designed by Mari Simmulson for Upsala-Ekeby. The motif features a stylized female portrait rendered in white sgraffito against a dark brown background, beautifully framed by a white beaded border. The expressive face is crowned by a three-dimensional floral wreath in bright, glazed pastel colors, creating a striking contrast to the rustic stoneware body. The background is animated by turquoise relief rhombuses, making this a fantastic example of Simmulson's ability to combine textures with playful decoration.
