An expressive handmade pheasant figurine crafted in the classic cloisonné technique. The bird is richly decorated with an intricate scale pattern across its chest and detailed feathers in a vibrant palette of green, red, blue, and gold. The fine metal wires framing the enamel add texture and life to the plumage. An elegant and colorful accent for any interior.
The story of this object
Cloisonné is a time-consuming enamel technique where patterns are built using fine metal wires that create cells, which are then filled with colored enamel and fired. During the 20th century, many skillfully crafted animal figurines using this technique were exported from Asia to Western homes.
