The story of this object
The motif of prunus blossoms against a cracked ice background is a traditional Chinese pattern symbolizing the arrival of spring and nature's rebirth. The style reached its golden age during the Kangxi period in the 17th and 18th centuries and has been produced continuously ever since, remaining one of the most beloved porcelain patterns worldwide.
