Vintage Hand-Painted Chinese Famille Rose Canton Vase with Figure Decor

Colorful Chinese ceramics in classic Canton Famille Rose style

£74.00

VAT included. Sold under the margin scheme for second-hand goods — no VAT is shown separately.

An elegant hand-painted baluster vase in white porcelain, richly decorated with traditional Famille Rose enamel colors. The motifs depict detailed garden scenes with figures in classic attire, framed by flowering trees, fences, and Asian architecture. The neck of the vase is adorned with matching decor and the rim has an elegant gilded edge. A beautiful and timeless interior object that adds both color and historical charm to the room. Stamped at the bottom meaning: Made during the reign of Qianlong, which was 1736 - 1795. However, the vase was made around 1960, and putting older emperors' reign marks on Chinese porcelain is a very old tradition done as a tribute to former golden ages.

The story of this object

Famille Rose, the pink family, is a renowned palette in Chinese porcelain introduced during the 18th century and characterized by its opaque, soft color tones. These vases carry a mark honoring the imperial golden age, a tradition often used on high-quality export porcelain during the 20th century.
