VAT included. Sold under the margin scheme for second-hand goods — no VAT is shown separately.
A rectangular dish or ashtray in heavy, cobalt blue glass. The base features a distinct pressed relief decoration depicting a stylized face or figure, a recurring and cherished motif in the designer's work. The thick glass gives the object a rustic and tactile feel typical of Swedish glassworks tradition in the mid-20th century.
The story of this object
Erik Höglund (1932–1998) revolutionized Swedish glass art when he joined Boda glassbruk in the 1950s. Drawing inspiration from primitive and folk art, he introduced a robust, colorful, and naivistic expression that broke with the strict ideals of the time, and his molded glass reliefs became immensely popular.
