The story of this object

The Metzler & Ortloff porcelain factory was located in Ilmenau in the Thüringen region and was founded in the 1870s. The factory gained international renown for producing high-quality figurines of children and animals. This figurine was made during the period when the company operated in former East Germany (DDR).
