A stately vase in heavy, clear crystal from Swedish Orrefors, designed by Sven Palmqvist. The design is dominated by a strong, square grid pattern in relief that gives the glass an exciting and tactile character. The vase reflects the light beautifully and, with its robust shape, is ideal for heavier bouquets of cut flowers.
The story of this object
Textured glass and strict, geometric reliefs became an important expression in Nordic glass from the 1960s onwards, where the volume of the material and optical effects took center stage.
